Tropical Storm Update

Due to Tropical Storm Jose, we are advising the following over the next couple of days:

  • Our area will see the possibility of heavy rain from Monday night into Wednesday.

  • Winds will be sustained 10-20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph along the coast.

  • Tidal flooding will be ‘Minor to Moderate’ beginning tonight into Wednesday due to the stacking of the water in the back bays because of the on-shore flow. High tides are as follows: 6:54 pm tonight, Tuesday morning high tide is 7:24 am and Tuesday night high tide is 7:41 pm. This will be minor to moderate flooding 7 feet above the normal high tide.

  • Beach erosion is possible with 10’ wave heights.

  • Rip currents are at a ‘High Risk.’ Please stay out of the ocean.

  • If you live in a low lying area, move your vehicles to higher ground.

  • Secure or remove all outside objects so they don’t become projectiles.

  • Please do not try to drive through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged leading to costly repairs.

  • If there are barricades blocking a road, it is there for your protection. Please do NOT attempt to drive around it.

Dorset Ave. will be closed during the high tides. Make arrangements ahead of time if you need to leave the area.

We will be updating the Ventnor City website and Facebook page as much as possible to keep everyone informed.

Please use caution if you need to travel.
